County Fair Season has kicked off here in Wisconsin! I’m not sure when the actual first county fairs take place, but my brother showed one of his steers at a fair last weekend, so I know that we are officially in the swing of things! I usually only go to one county fair that takes place in August, but I wanted to get this post up for anyone who might be attending an earlier fair and needs some inspo for what to wear. If you’re not much of a fair-goer, any of these looks could work for a country concert too! And so I give you 7 different country outfits for the fair (or a country concert)!
1. Rust Colored Cami with Black Jeans and Booties
I wore this outfit when I went to see Brothers Osbourne / Jimmie Allen / Filmore / Riley Green at Summerfest. Whenever I’m unsure of how the weather will be, jeans with a cami and either a jacket or kimono are my go-to. Here in Wisconsin, it might be 80 degrees during the day, but the second the sun goes down, it can get chilly! Fair warning about these jeans though.. If you’re going to see a pop-country band out of Nashville, be prepared to have the same jeans on as at least one (or in my case when Filmore was on stage, ALL) of the band members!
2. Denim Shorts with a Lace Kimono and Real Cowgirl Boots
These boots are a few years old and I could really use a new pair, but anyone who knows me knows that I refuse to wear knockoff cowgirl boots. Give me all the designer dupes on handbags and sandals, but when it comes to cowgirl boots, they are truly worth the investment. To keep them current, I like to pair them with other trendier pieces like this lace kimono and a circle straw bag.
3. Floral Peplum Top, Skinny Jeans, and Booties
When I saw this peplum top on Amazon, I knew that I had to have it. I didn’t know what I needed it for or what I was going to wear it with, so I added it to my wishlist. When I was looking for something to wear to go to a Jason Aldean concert, I saw this top and just knew that it would go perfectly with items that I already had in my closet! (Que these jeans and boots). The top fits so well and the quality of the material is great! I’m so glad that I finally had a reason to move it from my wishlist to my cart.
4. Plaid Shirt, White Jeans, and Booties
Plaid, denim, and boots – a classic combination if there ever was one, especially when it comes to country outfits! This Free People top is an older style which means it’s available for a great price! I love this twist on a classic piece. It’s a high-low cut and super flowy. It’s also lightweight, so it is perfect for summertime. I paired it with one of my favorite pairs of jeans and boots, so this outfit is a total win for me! (For more on the jeans, check out my blog post where I shared 22 different ways to wear them!)
5. Rust Colored Cami, Denim Shorts, and Real Cowgirl Boots
I am so glad that I found this cami! It is so versatile and will be the perfect summer to fall transition piece. The cut on it isn’t too low, so I definitely feel comfortable wearing it on its own as a top. It will also be perfect layered under a cardigan for fall. Paired with these shorts and boots, it makes the perfect look for a county fair or a country concert.
6. Denim Shorts, White Crop Tee, and Booties
This crop tee was gifted to me and actually looks slightly different than the item that I thought I was getting, but I love it. It is super lightweight without being see-through, making it perfect for the summertime. As soon as I saw the top, this is the outfit that came to my mind, and I love the way that it came together!
7. Floral Kimono, Black Skinny Jeans, and Booties
This is the actual outfit that I wore to my local fair last year! The kimono is an older style, but I still wear it all the time! Floral kimonos are such easy pieces to dress up or down. I love this more casual country look!
I hope this has inspired you to wear something other than a button-up plaid shirt and jean shorts to your local county fair! There are so many ways to express your individuality while remaining country and casual.
