Well, suffice to say, 2020 has not gone how anybody expected it to. This year has thrown a wrench in all of our plans and in some cases it has been a little difficult to cope. You may or may not be planning on seeing family this holiday season. Even if you’re staying home, maybe getting dressed up a bit might be just the pick-me-up you need. It’s not a large gesture, but I find that getting dressed up and doing my hair and makeup tends to increase my mood whether I have somewhere to go or not. With all that said, I thought that it would be fun to share some Christmas outfit ideas with a few pieces that Chicwish recently gifted me.
Crosshatch Skirt with Cape Sweater
I’ve raved about this sweater before and I am not about to stop anytime soon! It has been a fave of mine ever since I got it last year. I like it so much that I actually own it in a second color. (I actually did a blog post rounding up 5 different ways to wear the rust colored cape sweater that you can read here if you are interested!) Pairing the green version of the cape sweater with leggings creates an elevated but comfy look. But I really love the way it looks when it is paired with a skirt. A pair of over the knee boots adds more warmth than you’d expect. If it gets really cold, just add a pair of panty hose or tights and you should be set!
Crosshatch Skirt with Open Front Cardigan
This cardigan is incredibly soft! The eyelash material gives this cardigan a luxe look and feel. I will say that the sleeves were a little short on me. Because of that, I feel like I have to be very conscious about what I pair it with. It’s not a piece that you will be able to just throw on with anything and it will automatically elevate the outfit. I talked more about this on my stories on Instagram. If you’d like to see more about what I mean, check out my Chicwish highlight over there.
Crosshatch Skirt with Sequin Sweater
This sweater is SO good! The floral sequin details instantly add a glamorous vibe that is worthy of any holiday party or new year’s look! Even if we can’t get together or go out this year to celebrate, I think if you put this sweater on, you will be inspired to celebrate with your closest loved ones right in your own living room!
Faux Leather Leggings with Heart Pom Sweater
This is a bonus look! I didn’t initially plan to include this outfit here, but as I was going through the images that I had, I realized that this might actually be the most realistic look for a lot of people – especially this year. This sweater is super cozy and pairing it with a tunic and some leggings make for a super cozy look. Feel free to switch out the booties for slipper to up the comfort level a notch.
There they are – my Christmas outfit ideas! I hope at least one of these looks has inspired you for this holiday season! As I mentioned already, even if you plan on staying to yourself this year, getting dressed up can have a surprising effect on your mood! Not being able to be with family in person is going to be extremely difficult for so many people. As small as this task might seem, it really can have a big impact. Any little thing can help right now! So, this is the least that I can do to try and keep spirits bright this season!
As always, thank you so much for reading!
