One of the biggest challenges of dressing well on a tight budget is finding multiple ways to reinvent the same pieces, but it is so rewarding when you do. Isn’t it such a thrill to find new ways to wear items that are already in your closet?! Coming up with a new outfit that makes you feel great is always exciting, but being able to do it without spending money on new pieces makes it that much more exhilarating. That is why I am giving you five ways to wear one bold striped sweater.
This sweater actually has somewhat of a comical story behind it. I had ordered it from Old Navy intending to wear it with a few very specific items that I already owned. Unfortunately, when I received the sweater, the coloring wasn’t quite what I had expected it to be and it did NOT work with the items that I had in mind. I had actually bagged it back up and was about to return it, when on a whim I decided to try it out with a few other pieces that were already in my closet. One outfit idea lead to another, and before I knew it, I had five outfits that I loved enough to share with the world!
The sweater is tunic length, so it is perfect to wear with leggings or jeans. For reference, I am between 5’6” and 5’7” and and ordered a small. It comes down far enough to cover my butt. The back is slightly longer than the front and there are slits in the hem on both sides that come up about two inches. It is a cotton/rayon viscose blend, giving it a bit of a sheen. Because of the sheen, you could totally dress it up more than I do here. The colors and the stripes give me more of a casual vibe, but it does come in a few other colors that might better lend themselves to a more dressed up look.
Now on to my looks!
