Happy New Year! It has been quite a while since I have shared a blog post, so I figured there’s no time like a new year to get back to it! I have been sharing Chicwish clothes for a couple of years now and they reached out about doing a blog post reviewing some of their pieces and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity.
I have rounded up some of my current Chicwish faves and shared what I loved (and some things that I didn’t love) about all of them. Chicwish has supported me since I first started blogging, and I have always been open and honest about my opinions of all of the pieces that I have received from them. Sweaters and skirts tend to be my favorite thing to shop for on their site, but I have included a few other types of pieces here as well. So, without any further ado, let’s get into this massive Chicwish haul!
*In full disclosure, Chicwish did send me all of the pieces shown here. Of course, all opinions are my honest ones though! Also, I was not compensated monetarily for this blog post. (Not that being compensated would make a difference in the opinions that I share, I just thought I’d call it out).
Golden Fringe Buttoned Tweed Mini Bud Skirt
Let’s start here because I think that this might be one of my favorite overall outfits on the list! This skirt has a beautiful panel detail on the side of it that is lined with a gold and white twine thread. The button details and faux pocket flap add some extra interest. I think this skirt could be super cute for a holiday party or a valentine’s day date. I went with a size medium in this skirt.
Pros: Beautiful tweed fabric with gold metallic stitching, pearl look buttons add a high end feel, the skirt is lined
Cons: I went with a size medium, but it was a little on the short side while being a little loose in the waist
Turtleneck Cable Knit Cropped Sweater
Next up in my Chicwish haul is this cropped sweater. I have to say, overall, I LOVE this sweater! The mini cable knit detail in the sweater is so pretty and the cropped cut is super trendy. The only downside is that it only comes in one size option, which I am never a fan of.
Pros: Pretty neutral white/ivory color, gorgeous cable knit detail, cropped cut and oversized balloon sleeves are on-trend right now
Cons: Only available in one size option
Heart Jacquard Knit Scarf
How cute is this scarf?! What’s even better is that the way that it is stitched, you could totally get away with wearing it in either direction. The product page shows the large white hearts as the front of the scarf. It is knit in such a way that the backside of it has what appears to be small white hearts and I think they would be just as cute to wear on the front if you are wanting to change up the look of it!
Pros: Multiple ways to wear it to change up the look, warm and cozy, yarn is soft and not scratchy
Cons: I wouldn’t have minded if it was a tad longer, but the length is definitely not a make or break for me.
Grid Print Fringe Edge Poncho
I have to admit, I am a sucker for a cute cape or poncho. When I saw this one on the Chicwish site, I was enamored! The colors in it are just my style and I instantly envisioned multiple ways that I could wear it with pieces that I already had in my closet. In my opinion, that’s how you know you’ve found an item that is worth adding to your wardrobe!
Pros: Pretty colors, classy grid detail that can be dressed up or dressed down, versatile, lightweight so it can be worn year-round
Cons: There doesn’t seem to be any stitching placed to reinforce the raw hem, so it’s possible it could fray more if you’re not careful (although, I have washed and dried it with my delicates, and so far it has held up well!)
Patched Pocket Shimmer Knit Buttoned Cardigan
Chicwish does a good job at keeping up with the trends, so I wanted to make sure to share a trendier piece in my Chicwish haul. If you are looking for a feminine way to try out the button-front cardigan trend, this is it! The mismatched pearl look buttons are so fun! And while it’s hard to tell from the product’s pictures, the yarn used for the knitting has silver glimmer threads adding an extra touch of glam!
Pros: The style of the sweater is super trendy, mismatched pearl look buttons are a fun and glamorous touch, it has pockets!
Cons: Only available in one size option. I’ve yet to find a yarn with shimmer detail that is super soft and the yarn used in this sweater is no exception; it causes a bit of a scratchy texture.
Waterfall Longline Knit Cardigan
Ok, I couldn’t get through a Chicwish haul without sharing a cardigan. This waterfall cardigan comes in 5 different colors and is a great option to wear right now, but will also be perfect for transitioning from winter to spring. I went with a size small in this one but still felt like it was a tad roomy. The pink is a really pretty hue and the waterfall hem adds interest.
Pros: Midweight which makes it a good transitional piece, available in many colors, drapey front adds a fun and feminine detail
Cons: Even though I ordered the smallest size, I felt like there was still some extra room.
Mix-Color Knit Oversized Longline Sweater
I broke out of my comfort zone a bit and went with this sweater in a funky, vibrant color and I am so glad that I did! The color of the sweater is so pretty and there are confetti thread details that remind me of beautiful fish scales speckled throughout the sweater. It is long and oversized, but only comes in one size option, so may not be suitable for someone more petite.
Pros: Colors in the sweater are gorgeous, the confetti has a sheen to it that is even prettier in person, tunic length can be worn with leggings
Cons: It is very oversized and only available in one size option
Turtleneck Cable Knit Sweater Dress
Finally! A sweater dress that is actually a sweater dress! Do you struggle to find sweater dresses that don’t feel like glorified tunic sweaters?! This is not one of those. It is a great length and can legitimately be called a dress. I sized up to an M-L and was happy with the fit
Pros: Great neutral color, beautiful cable knit detailing, good length
Cons: I honestly cannot think of any cons for this one! It’s a goodie!!
Metallic Check Tweed Mini Bud Skirt
My final piece in this Chicwish haul is another tweed skirt. A good tweed skirt is such a timeless and classy piece to add to your wardrobe. This one is a great neutral option with metallic gold detailing in the tweed that adds a bit of femininity. Like the red tweed skirt, I went with a size medium in this one. I feel like I am in between a medium and a small in Chicwish shirts in terms of how they fit me around the waist, but in terms of length, I am glad I went with the larger size.
Pros: Lined, neutral colors make it very versatile, metallic gold detail in tweed gives is a glamorous/feminine touch
Cons: For me, it’s a little on the short side. I wish it had an additional inch or two in length.
Well, there it is folks! I told you that it was a massive Chicwish haul! They have a lot of unique and affordable pieces to choose from, so filling up a cart on their site is not hard to do. Overall, my favorite thing about Chicwish is their ability to offer good quality, trendy pieces at affordable prices. As I mentioned earlier in this post, my favorite things to shop for on Chicwish tend to be skirts and sweaters. They do have a lot of fun dresses as well. While I love Chicwish and will continue to shop and share their pieces, my biggest qualm would be their sizing. I find that it can be a little inconsistent. Also, it bothers me that some items are only available in such limited sizes. I feel like if they offered a wider size range, more people could buy and wear their clothes.
I hope this review has been helpful and the outfits that I’ve shared have inspired you! As always, thank you so much for reading!
