Is there anything better than a kimono when it comes to layering pieces?! There are so many varieties of kimonos and the options with them are endless! I love all the different colors, cuts, and prints that are available and it is pretty easy to find a good option for under $20. Also, I love how a kimono really elevates an outfit, so that is why I am sharing this one kimono a couple of ways.
Early this spring, I had been looking to replace an older kimono that I had in my closet that had seen better days. Naturally, I took to Amazon, and their selection did not disappoint! I think that this was one of the first options that popped up in my search and I was really drawn to the color and the print. It was one of those pieces that I saw and immediately had ideas of how I would wear it running through my mind. When you find an item like that, you know you were meant to have it!
Outfit One
My first thought was to pair the kimono with some flare jeans that I had just bought. The outfit came together in person just the way I thought it would in my mind (I love when that happens)! I was a little afraid that the flowiness of the kimono combined with the flare bottoms on the jeans might create an unflattering silhouette, but they didn’t. The kimono is just fitted enough that everything pairs together really nicely. To complete the look, I added a tan fedora in addition to the kimono.
Outfit Two
Once I had received the kimono, I also wanted to try it with my current favorite pair of jeans. I thought that the green and the white looked so pretty together. The two pieces came together for a really classic spring look. I can totally see this outfit being worn to church, a casual shower or a spring birthday party!
There are so many more ways that this kimono can be worn! It’s sheer, so it could totally be used as a swim cover-up. It’s super lightweight so it will go nicely with a pair of shorts and a tee or tank once the weather warms up. I could also see it being dressed up for a workwear look. The options are truly endless! I just wanted to get these two spring looks out there while they are still relevant. I hope you enjoyed!
