Oversized Chenille Sweater, 4 ways

I have a serious confession to make: I absolutely HATE paying shipping fees. I would rather drive an hour to a brick and mortar store than pay $6.99 for shipping on an online order. There have even been instances where I have spent an hour on a retailer’s website adding items to my cart only to discard the entire order upon the realization that there is no spend threshold that I can surpass in order to receive free shipping (I’m looking at you, Hobby Lobby).

Anyway, enough of that mini-rant. I say all of that to say this: I did not set out to buy this sweater.  The only reason why I bought it is because Aerie was having one of their 10 pairs of panties for $35 sales and I was in need of an undergarment stock up.  I hate trying to buy underwear in the store during sales like this, because no store I ever go to has all off the colors/styles that I want in the size that I need.  I find it MUCH easier to shop these sales online. And so that is what I was doing when I realized that I needed to add a little more to my cart in order to get free shipping. This sweater was it.

I have to say, I am SO glad that I spent the $30 on the sweater rather than the $7 in shipping fees.  This sweater made of chenille yarn and is extremely soft and cozy because of it. I had an idea of what I wanted to wear the sweater when I bought it, but after I received it, I realized that it was even more versatile than I realized!

Here are four of my favorite looks that I created with the sweater:

1.

AERIE OVERSIZED CHENILLE TURTLENECK
This Aerie chenille over-sized sweater pairs perfectly with winter neutrals. These Old Navy jeans have been a go-to for me since I bought them last year and I have been wearing these Jessica Simpson booties on repeat as well.

2.

For a more edgy look, a great option is the sweater paired with black distressed denim and leopard booties and a gold bangle.

3.

Steve Madden Rational Over-The-Knee Boots
Is it clear that I can’t get enough of winter neutrals this year? I think this sweater paired with Steve Madden rational over-the-knee boots and white jeans is my favorite look of the four. It’s not super clear in this picture, but for an understated accent, I added this Kinsley Armelle agate collection tawny bracelet.

4.

I had to include a lounge wear look because I am pretty sure that the sweater was intended to be worn with a good pair of leggings or joggers. I like the rose version of the sweater with these heather grey leggings and cozy socks.

There is seriously so much more you could do with this sweater! I was working within the confines of my own closet, but I’m sure anyone reading this has at least one or two outfits in their own closet that they could create with the sweater. It could be worn so many ways, but I hope these four sparked some inspiration for you!
