It is the absolute dead of winter here in Wisconsin, but I can’t stop thinking about spring! I already have a bunch of warmer-weather outfits that I am so ready to bust out of my closet. Unfortunately for me, I might be waiting longer than I’d like to before I get to don these threads. Last year, winter ran well into April. Who knows when spring will decide to arrive this year! In the meantime, I thought that I would share the 2019 spring/summer trends that I’m digging and excited to partake in.
1. White Boots
Ok, if you ask anyone who follows fashion closely, they would tell you that white boots were more prevalent on runways for Fall 2018 than they were for Spring 2019. This might be true, but I’m from the Midwest. We are pretty practical people here in the Midwest. White shoes are way more practical in the warmer weather months than they are in fall and winter. So for that reason, I have included white boots on this list. I plan to purchase a pair this spring and wear them as long as I can into the year.

2. Bright & Bold Sunset Hues
In case you hadn’t heard, living coral is the 2019 Pantone color of the year and you are sure to see it in the form of clothes, shoes, and accessories this year. Along with Living Coral, bright and bold hues like Aspen yellow, Fiesta Red and Pink Peacock were all named on the Pantone Fashion Color Trend Report as the top colors showing up on the runways in New York and London for designer’s Spring/Summer 2019 collections. I look forward to experimenting with some of these hues in my clothes and accessories this spring and summer.

3. Headie Vibes and Tie-Dye
Tie-Dye is back baby! As surprising as it may be to some, designers from Prada to Stella McCartney included it in some form in their Spring/Summer runway collections. I, for one, am here for it. My preference are the more subtle tie-dye hues over the super loud and bright rainbow creations. I can’t wait to rock a tie-dye dress to the beach or a music festival this summer. If I’m feeling really ambitious, I might even try my hand at a DIY tie-dye piece!

4. Snake Print
Animal print is going nowhere anytime soon! If Fall 2018 was the season of leopard, I am predicting that Spring 2019 will be the season of snake print. I’m starting to see it pop up more and more in the form of tops, dresses, shoes, and accessories. I like the subtleness of the print and am excited to incorporate it into my own wardrobe.

5. Biker Shorts
Ok, again, if you were to ask a fashion expert, they might tell you that bike shorts are old news. While bike shorts may have been around, it is not a trend that I have warmed up to until now. I will admit that I will probably save this trend for the gym though! Biker shorts will be the perfect alternative to yoga leggings for summertime workouts. How cute will they be with a sports bra or over-sized tee?!
