Summer Formal Look with Chicwish

If you’re anything like me, you love the timeless classy look of a mesh midi skirt! However, you might not necessarily have a reason to wear one on a day-to-day basis. When Chicwish reached out about a collaboration right around the time that I had a wedding coming up that I was planning to attend, I had all the reason I needed to order this skirt.  When I saw it, I immediately knew that it would make the perfect summer formal look. 

As I continued to peruse their site, I saw this lace crop top and knew that it would be the perfect piece to complement the midi skirt. I knew that its neutral color would allow me to wear it with just about any of the midi skirts that Chicwish offered.  I also knew that I had a pair of high-waisted flare jeans that would pair well with the top for a more casual boho look. I’m all about versatility and reutilizing pieces, even if they are being gifted to me for a brand collaboration!

Shopping online can be a little daunting when it comes to fit and sizing.  Obviously, the items always look great on the models online, but how do you know if it will also look great on you?! I was especially a little nervous about the top. It is a great piece, but only if it fits just right. I didn’t want it to be too tight, but I also didn’t want it to be too baggy.  The medium size is what I wound up going with figuring that I could always take it in a bit if needed. I normally wear a size small (4-6) and honestly could have gone with a small in the top. The medium didn’t look bad though. (I didn’t wind up taking in the sides before photographing the top).

I really like the way this look came together.  It makes the perfect summer formal look for a wedding or any other event that you might need to get dressed up for. I also think that this skirt will make the perfect outfit for New Years by pairing it with a sweater and ankle booties. Again, I’m all about versatility and re-utilizing pieces!
