Do you struggle to find outfits to wear to fall football and other sporting events? Especially outdoor sporting events that take place in cooler weather. For the longest time I faced the same struggle. It’s virtually impossible to plan an outfit for any kind of outdoor sporting event in the Midwest because you never know what the weather will do! Will it be 40 degrees and rainy? Will it be 65 degrees and sunny? Sometimes the answer isn’t clear until the day of and sometimes even the day of, mother nature still hasn’t made up her mind!
Even if you are in some kind of magical wonderland where weather is of no concern, between the MLB, NFL, and NCAA, there are so many sporting events happening at any given time during the September – October time frame! Not to even mention high school events if you attend those as well! If you’re anything like me, you might be headed to a baseball game one day and a football party the next. Who can keep up with having different gear for any given sporting occasion?!
Transversely, you might not be a sports fan at all, but maybe you live in an environment where sports teams are so greatly valued that social events are created around the games. You get invited to the events and like to go to be social and to spend time with friends, but you don’t want to invest in a jersey or t-shirt that you might wear once and never wear again.
Regardless of which of these scenarios you more closely relate to, I have the answer for you: a baseball cap!
I came to this epiphany a few years back. Before that, I always thought that I looked dumb wearing a baseball cap. I think that it was because I just hadn’t found a baseball cap that fit me well.
Finding a baseball cap that I actually liked was a game changer. It completely opened up my wardrobe options when it came to what I wore to sporting events.
Think about it – you can wear a baseball cap with just about anything these days. If you have a hat that represents your favorite sports team, you no longer have to worry about having a t-shirt for warmer days and a sweatshirt for cooler days and a jacket for the really cold days. You can wear pretty much any things you want that is weather appropriate, add a hat, and there will be no question about which team you are rooting for!
